Friedrich W. Blass (1843Ð1907) was a classicist, New Testament scholar, and linguist. After studying at Gsttingen and Bonn, he taught in gymnasia for thirteen years before university appointments at Ksnigsberg, Kiel, and then Halle-Wittenberg. He produced a large body of work, but perhaps his most famous work is the grammar he coauthored with Albert Debrunner, 'A Greek Grammar of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature,' later translated and edited by Robert W.
