William V. Bangert, S.J., was professor of history at Jesuit scholasticates throughout the United States including St. Andrew-on-Hudson. He wrote numerous books on early Jesuits including Claude Jay and Alfonso Salmeron: Two Early Jesuits (1985). Fr. Bangert died in 1985 Thomas McCoog, S.J., received his doctorate in history in 1984. He has published articles in Recusant History and the Heythrop Journal. From 1984 to 1991 he was associate professor of history at Loyola College in Baltimore.
