Three ex-U.S. Air Force men recruit the daughter of a British aircraft company executive, herself a Royal Air Force test pilot, to attempt the recovery of three World War II German jet fighter planes from a partially bombed-out underground asembly plant. With a rogue German policeman moving to stop them, they attempt to escape and secretly fly the antique planes to England. A crippled and reclusive ex-Luftwaffe fighter pilot initially opposes the Americans, but fearing that the German government will jail him, he joins in the adventure to covertly fly the ancient planes to England.
