Stan Byrdy was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, and is a graduate of Youngstown State University. Beginning with Jack Nicklaus' historic win in 1986, Stan Byrdy has served as golf analyst for WJBF-TV in Augusta, Georgia, for "Masters Reports," an award-winning local program featuring daily Masters Tournament coverage. He was voted "Best Local Sports Personality" by readers of Augusta Magazine for nine consecutive years. Winner of Georgia and South Carolina AP and UPI sports reporting awards, Stan's work has been seen on ESPN and ABC News affiliates nationwide. The Augusta National Golf Club is the second offering on golf in Augusta that Stan has compiled. His first book, Augusta and Aiken in Golf's Golden Age, chronicles the earliest days of the sport in the golf capital of the world. Stan and wife Donna live in Augusta with their son, David, who was born just days after the manuscript for this book was completed. William Lanier III Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, William graduated from Louisiana State University. He started his career as a golf professional at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia, and subsequently became the director of golf instruction. Following a year spent as a professional tour caddie, he became a tour professional in 2000, playing various mini-tours since then. Lanier is the founder and owner of The Players Book Yardage Books Company that specializes in creating professional golf tour yardage books. The venture combines William's two loves-golf and drawing.
