The book is a description of the life of the Spanish Gypsies - an interesting late 18th century English look at the gypsies - with an original collection of their songs and poetry. A large section is devoted to the language of the Gitanos, "Robber" language, and specimens of Gypsy dialects, and the English dialect of the Rommany. The final part is entitled " Miscellenies in the Gitano Language."
