Over the last four decades, one of the most successful brands in the field of aviation publishing has been that of Wrecks & Relics. Each new edition of this biennial publication is eagerly awaited by aviation enthusiasts throughout the British Isles and beyond. This year will see the first publication of a new title which will from now on be produced in the years between the new editions of Wrecks & Relics itself. Wrecks & Relics, The Album, will achieve the same success as its parent and will be sought by the same broad cross section of aviation enthusiasts. The album will consist of a selection of largely unpublished photos covering the 40-year life span of Wrecks & Relics. The same wide editorial parameters of the parent publication will be employed, defining in the broadest terms non-operational aircraft throughout the British Isles, ranging from beautifully restored museum exhibits to hulks used to train fire crews at airports. After a brief introduction, the first part of the book will look at the aircraft preservation scene in general over the years. This will be followed by a series of themed chapters on subjects such as British military types, foreign military aircraft, airliners and light aviation. One poignant section will look at the "ones that got away" -- aircraft which should have been saved but which, for various reasons, did not make it into preservation.Ellis, Ken is the author of 'Wrecks & Relics The Album', published 2003 under ISBN 9781857801668 and ISBN 1857801660.
