Gert Wingardh was born in Skovde, a relatively small city in central Sweden, in 1951. He began his career in the middle 1970s at Johannes Olivegren's architectural firm and opened his own firm in 1977, in Gothenburg. Throughout his career he has always aimed to propose designs giving both historical and contemporary sensations, guided by a sociological methodology which puts people's usage of physical environment as a key of planning. During these years he has designed and produced a variety, of projects, starting with interiors and private homes and following with a number of laboratory complexes, office and public buildings.
