Peter Hill graduated from Pembroke College, Oxford, and taught history for twenty-two years. He ended his career as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Education at the University of Exeter. After retiring, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Exeter. His other books include British Social and Economic History and A History of the United States. His revision of Who's Who in Stuart Britain was completed shortly before he died.Hill, C.
