AUTHOR

Boru, Sean

SUMMARY

Sean Boru has many strings to his bow. Sean is an actor, live entertainer and writer. His first book, No Sense of Tumour, is also in print (ISBN 1-903256-17-8). During the early years as a struggling actor, Sean got a job as a tour guide in London. As part of the job he was required to study on a regular basis and change his tour from time to time. For Sean this wasn't an effort, as he had a natural interest in history. As the years passed and Sean got better at the tour, often lasting three to four hours, he realised that a lot of the capital's history had been forgotten. His studies uncovered many wonderful stories and facts that most tour guides simply gloss over. Sean wanted to become a different type of guide to the traditional, often fuddy-duddy style of guiding. Sean did his tours mostly from an open-topped bus, though he is also a master of the walking tour, from Jack the Ripper to the Changing of the Guard. Often when the bus is stuck in traffic, Sean noticed that most guides simply sat silent and by doing so lost the attention of their audience. Being a live performer and realising the importance of keeping your audience focused on you, Sean started to look for lost facts to fill in the spaces and keep the audience not only focused on him, but genuinely entertained. Sean started studying the English language, sayings and their origins, and the lost history of the sewage and underground train system. The audiences were enthralled, as no other guide was doing this. Most guides would just talk about the same things as the last guide whose bus you'd been on, but Sean was different. Sean now lectures on the capital's history to groups around the country and has in the past few years been involved in training new guides and creating a new genre of London tour hosts. Sean is very well-known and respected in the London tourist industry and is known by many as the tour guide's tour guide.Boru, Sean is the author of 'Unique Historie of London Featuring the American Connections' with ISBN 9781424118694 and ISBN 1424118697.
