These images are from the Anne S. K. Brown Military Collection at Brown University, Providence, RI. The first hundred images are uniforms of the Russian Army, 1907-1920. Herbert Knotel's Berlin grouping consists of 45 images done on the post-WWII scene, and includes those contracted for by the Military Intelligence Section, G-2, Berlin command, 1945. Officially known as "Series A," they were used to educate U.S. and Allied military personnel on the various elements of the Soviet Army.
