SUMMARY
Phil Baines graduated from St Martin's School of Art, London, in 1985 and the Royal College of Art in 1987. Since then he has worked as a freelance designer and is noted for his letterpress work. He is a Senior Lecturer on the BA (Honors) Graphic Design course at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design and is co-curator (with Catherine Dixon) of the Central Lettering Record. Andrew Haslam graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1987. Since then he has run his own studio, creating science, history and geography textbooks for children. In 1994 he won the American Institute of Physics Award for best science writing, and in 1997 the Geographical Society Gold Medal for most significant contribution to geography. Having taught at several colleges in the UK, he is now course leader of the MA Communication Design course at Central Saint Martins College of Art & DesignBaines, Phil is the author of 'Type And Typography ', published 2005 under ISBN 9780823055289 and ISBN 0823055280.
