Mostafa Azkia is a senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology of the College of Social Sciences, University of Tehran, Iran Marcus Gerhardt was educated in Wales and graduated from St. Andrew's University, Scotland, with distinction. He received his M.Phil. in modern Middle East studies from St. Antony's College, Oxford University. He has had the ill fortune of being an avid HSU Hamburg football supporter Eric Hooglund is editor of the journal Critique: Critical Middle Eastern Studies and a former visiting fellow in Iranian studies at St. Antony's College, Oxford University. He has taught Middle East history and politics at the University of California, Berkeley; the University of Shiraz, Iran; the University of Virginia, Charlottesville; and Ohio State University Farhad Khosrokhavar is a sociologist who has taught in Iran and the United States. Currently he is at l'Ecole des hautes etudes en sciences sociales, Paris Azadeh Kian-Thiebaut is an associate professor of political science at the University of Paris 8 and researcher at le Monde Iranien of the Centre national de la recherche scientifique, Paris Ziba Mir-Hosseini is a social anthropologist and a research associate at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London Mehdi Moslem is research associate at the Oriental Institute, Oxford University Jalil Roshandel, currently is a Visiting Professor in the Political Science Department and the Burkle Center for International Relations, University of California at Los Angeles Eric Rouleau headed the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean Department of the Paris daily Le Monde from 1955 to 1985.
