Trees of Santa Barbara

J. Robert Haller is a native of Los Angeles and a resident of Santa Barbara since 1957. Bob received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he studied the systematic relationships of California's yellow pines. From 1957 to 1993 he served on the faculty of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of California at Santa Barbara and continued his studies of western conifers. His classes trained generations of California botanists and were well-known among students for their exquisite slide shows of the California flora.
