William M. Gaugler is Professor Emeritus of Classical Art and Archaeology at San Jose State University. He completed his fine arts education at the School of the Society of Arts and Crafts, now the Center for Creative Studies, College of Art and Design, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Gaugler received his Bachelor of Arts degree in literature and philosophy from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois, and his Doctoral degree in classical archaeology, with specializtion in Etruscology, from the University of Florence, Italy.
