Wslter Dean Myers has always been drawn to the stories of the Bible, from his childhood Sunday school lessons to his grandfather's fire-and-brimstone orations to his own reading of the Old Testament as a teenager. For his diverse body of work, he has received two Newbery Honors, five Coretta Scott King Awards, the Virginia Hamilton Literary Award, and the Michael J. Printz Award. His most recent title for Scholastic Press, The Greatest: Muhammad Ali, was named an ALA Notable. Raised in Harlem, he now lives with his family in Jersey City, New Jersey Christopher Myers explored classic depictions of Bible stories going back many centuries in order to create the artwork in this book. That research, along with the Bible stories he grew up hearing, helped shape his unique interpretations. Christopher Myers is the Caldecott Honor medalist of Harlem, written by his father, as well as the author and illustrator of the Coretta Scott King Honor Book Black Cat and the Charlotte Zolotow Honor Book Wings. He lives in Brooklyn, New York Captain, Michael Dean Myers is a Chaplain in the United States Air Force. He is a graduate of New Mexico University and the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
