Three Days

Donna Jo Napoli has traveled extensively with her children and has often imagined what would happen if disaster struck her family while abroad. Out of love and respect for her Italian ancestry, she chose to locate her novel in a remote area of Calabria, the home of her mother's family. Ms. Napoli has written numerous books for young people, including Zel, The Magic Circle, Spinners, and Stones in Water-winner of the Golden Kite Award and The Sydney Taylor Book Award for fiction. Ms. Napoli is a professor of linguistics at Swarthmore College.
