Paul H. Silverstone is an internationally recognized naval authority known for his many books and articles on warships. Some of his earlier studies of U.S. Navy ships from the Civil War through the wars of the twentieth century are being revised and updated for this series. Silverstone edits the naval notes column of Warship International, the quarterly journal of the International Naval Research Organization, and he has written and lectured on the subject of Jewish clandestine immigration to Palestine by ship between 1938 and 1948. A resident of New York City where he is a travel consultant, Silverstone has been an avid student of naval history for many years.
