The Legacy: Legacy of the Drow, Book I

Bob Salvatore's love affair with fantasy, and with literature in general, began early. During his sophomore year of college, he was given a copy of J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings as a Christmas gift. He promptly changed his major from computer science to journalism and was awarded a bachelor of science degree in Communications/Media from Fitchburg (Mass.) State College in 1981. He has since earned a bachelor of arts degree in English. Born in Massachusetts in 1959, Bob lives there still with his wife, Diane, and their three children. He finds time between chapters of his latest novel to play baseball and softball. Bob also enjoys playing and coaching hockey and is an avid weight-lifter. Bob's first two Forgotten RealmsR novel series, The Icewind Dale Trilogy and The Dark Elf Trilogy, (including the New York Times best-sellers The Halfling's Gem and Sojourn), have sold more than one million copies worldwide. The Chaos Curse, the conclusion to his Cleric Quintet series, is due out in July 1994 from TSR, Inc. The Legacy is Bob's twelfth published novel.R.A.
