In 2001 Dr. Michael A. Milton was called as the pastor of the historic First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee, the twelfth since 1840.His sermons from First Presbyterian Church are presented to the public on the ÒFaith for LivingÓ multi-media outreach ministry which utilizes radio, television, iPod broadcasts, and Internet audio and video (faithforliving.net). Dr. Milton is the author of the books Leaving a Career to Follow a Call: A Vocational Guide to the Ordained Ministry, Authentic Christianity and the Life of Freedom, and The Demands of Discipleship. He is a member of the Board of Contributing Editors of Preaching Magazine, has written numerous popular and academic articles, and has been published in such periodicals as The Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society and World Magazine. He has been featured on national radio and television programs such as ÒTruths that TransformÓ with Dr. D. James Kennedy, ÒThe Coral Ridge Hour,Ó and ÒMoody Radio's Money Matters.Ó He is also a recording artist, and in 2005 the album He Shall Restore, containing original songs, was released. The album is distributed through iTunes.Prior to becoming Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Dr. Milton served sixteen years in the business world and also was a top-secret Navy linguist. He interned under D. James Kennedy at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, and after seminary, he planted two churches: Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, Kansas, and Kirk O' the Isles Church in Savannah, Georgia. He is the founder of Westminster Academy Christian School in Overland Park and currently serves as an adjunct professor at Knox Theological Seminary. He is a graduate of The Defense Language Institute (Monterey, California), Mid America Nazarene University (Kansas), and Knox Theological Seminary. In 1998 he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in theology and religious studies from The University of Wales (UK). He is also a chaplain in the US Army Reserves.Dr. Milton's personal story of moving from orphan and prodigal son to understanding God's grace and receiving His adoption through Jesus Christ forms a frequent motif for offering Christ's healing to a broken generation.
