About the Authors Armando S. Bevelacqua is 30-plus-year veteran of the fire service where he currently serves as District Chief-Special Operations and Homeland Security with the City of Orlando Fire Department, Orlando Florida. His assigned duties hold him responsible for Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials Response, both local and regional response systems. Armando is also involved in training at many levels, including local colleges, fire departments, the National Fire Academy, the International Association of Firefighters, and for the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Richard Stilp is the Director of the Central Florida Fire Academy. He is retired from the Orlando Fire Department where he rose to the rank of District Chief and was the Chief in charge of the Hazardous Materials Team. Mr. Stilp is a Paramedic and Registered Nurse. He holds a B.A. in Business and an M.A. in Management. He is a hazardous materials technician and certified hazardous materials instructor, and he has been an adjunct instructor for the National Fire Academy and the International Association of Firefighters.
