This book focuses on policy development in lifelong learning at local, regional, national and supra-national levels. The international team of contributors explore and examine the policy context for lifelong learning, the policies themselves and their effects when implemented. In particular, they focus on the role of lifelong learning policy in relation to issues of economic competitiveness, technological change and social inclusion. This book provides a comparative international approach and encourages the reader to evaluate lifelong learning as a response to the globalising of educational policy.
