Munro Leaf's first children's book was Grammar Can Be Fun. It achieved wide success which continued with his other "Can be Fun" books. His most popular books are the two he collaborated on with his friend Robert Lawson, The Story of Ferdinand and Wee Gillis. Because of his work's international appeal, Mr. Leaf and his wife Margaret were invited on three twenty-six country tours under the auspices of the U.S. State Department, giving talks to children and to local educators and librarians.
