Spine of the World

Having just passed the dreaded forty mark, Bob Salvatore has spent a lot of time recently reflecting on what he's accomplished in life and trying to figure out what's next for him. He's keeping busy with the writing, both with Forgotten RealmsR novels and his DemonWars series (Del Rey), and he's working to continue to bring new challenges to both series, both for the characters and for Bob as a writer. On the personal front, he's started setting ambitious goals. He's currently in training for the Pan-Mass Challenge, a 195 mile, two-day bike tour across Massachusetts, with all benefits going to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the wonderful Jimmy Fund. "It's not going to be easy," the 240-pound Bob laughed about the rally. "I'm not exactly the aerodynamic bicycle type-I'm more like a linebacker."
