Richard P. Paul received a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. He went on to join the faculty at Purdue University as a professor of Electrical Engineering and the Ransburg Professor of Robotics. Dr. Paul currently teaches at the University of Pennsylvania in Computer and Information Science. He has served as one of the founding editors of the International Journal of Robotics Research, as well as a President of the IEEE Council on Robotics and Automation.
