SUMMARY

This volume of the IARC monographs considers some traditional herbal medicines, including extracts from certain plants of the genera Aristolochia, Rubia, Morinda and Senecio; some mycotoxins, specifically aflatoxins and fumonisin B; and two industrial chemicals, naphthalene and styrene. There was sufficient evidence that herbal remedies containing plant species of Aristolochia were carcinogenic to humans; but limited limited evidence as to the carcinogenicity of naturall occurring mixtures of aristolochic acids. There was also limited evidence as to the carcinogenicity of styrene.International Agency for Research on Cancer Staff is the author of 'Some Traditional Herbal Medicines, Some Mycotoxinsnaphthalene and Styrene' with ISBN 9789283212829 and ISBN 9283212827.
