Considerable verisimilitude is achieved by using actual names and authentic places, but this is entirely a work of fiction and it should not be construed in any other fashion. The personalities of all major characters were largely invented to enhance the fictional narrative. Furthermore, the conclusion has been altered materially, because the author does not know exactly how this story eventually ended.
