Dr. Josef A. Passley is a Senior Child/Adolescent Therapist employed by the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Baltimore, MD where he actively serves as Clinical Co-Investigator in a Clinic-Based Intervention & Prevention Program for Families experience Depressing. Currently at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Passley is a consultant to the (CKID) Chronic Kidney Disease in Children study conducting psychological and educational assessments. He also serves as a therapist with a Private Practice Multidisciplinary Group: Cedar Ridge Counseling Centres, in Laurel, Maryland where he provides outpatient mental health treatment for children, adolescents and adults in individual, couples, and family therapy settings. In Dr. Passley's previous positions, he served as a Child & Adolescent Therapist in both the Outpatient Clinic and Partial Hospitalization programs at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Centre for a number of years. He has also worked for Sheppard & Enoch Pratt Psychiatric hospital, Towson, MD, where he was a Special Education Teacher and a mental health worker where he provided services for children and adolescentsin a number of inpatient, partial hospitalization, and respite programs. Dr. Passley is also an Adjunct Professor at Lancaster Bible College Graduate School, Lancaster, PA, University of Baltimore Graduate School, Baltimore, MD, and is an Associate Graduate faculty member at Central Michigan Universtiy, Mt. Pleasant, MI. He has taught various courses including: THeories of Personality, Applied Counseling Methodologies, Human Development, Substance Abuse Counseling, and Psychopathology and Diagnosis. Dr. Passley has also supervised interns, served on thesis committees and has mentored graduate and post graduate students throughout his teaching career. Dr. Passley has conducted numerous professional and acadmic presentations both nationally and internationally. They include but are not limited to: Oxford University, Oxford England Round Table, conducted case study presentations at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Centre Community Psyciatry Department, and gives back to the community by presenting to students in local schools encouraging and motivating them to strive for excellence in their endeavors. Dr. Passley interviews frequently as a radio guest on WOLB 1010 AM (Baltimore)/1450 AM (Washington D.C.). Since September 2004, he has addressed topics such as: preparing children to live productive and meaningful lives, children and holiday depression, parental absence and its impact on society, young children and aggression in the classroom, societal and mental health implications of Hurricane Katrina, nurturing your child's self-esteem, and the effects of divorce on children.
