Timothy Cheek holds degrees in piano performance from the University of Texas and Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and received a Fulbright award to study at the Teatro Comunale in Florence, Italy, under conductors Bruno Bartoletti, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, and Zubin Mehta. He is currently an assistant professor of performing arts at the University of Michigan School of Music in Ann Arbor.
