Gordon has published numerous magazine articles and two business books. It was his interest in photography that led him to write Sigourney’s Quest. He began photographing for tour operators, one whom (Himalayan Treasures and Travel) hired him to photograph in Tibet in the 1990s. He was captivated by the region’s people, culture and spiritual devotion. But he was dismayed by the effects of China’s repressive policies towards the region, including a systematic program to populate the region with Chinese settlers. In the process, China has turned Tibet’s villages and its capital, Lhasa, into china towns” that undermine the Tibetans’ way of life.Snider, Gordon is the author of 'Sigourney's Quest ', published 2006 under ISBN 9780976919360 and ISBN 0976919362.
