Hui Liu received a B.S. in 1988 from Fudan University, Shanghai, China; an M.S. in 1992 from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon; and a Ph.D. degree in 1995 from the University of Texas at Austin, all in electrical engineering. He is currently with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle. Dr. Liu's activities for the IEEE Communications Society include membership on several technical committees and serving as an editor for the IEEE Transactions in Communications.
