Chris Mann has been fishing since early boyhood, starting with the gravel ponds of Essex and later, at the age of twelve, in Scotland where he discovered the joys of flyfishing for trout. His family moved house incessantly and Chris attended 10 different schools, but his passion for fishing travelled with him. He trained as a graphic designer and has since been in great demand throughout Europe, developing computer software. It is this expertise that has equipped him to develop the extraordinarily clear computer graphics of fishing flies that grace this book. After many years working in Germany, Chris now lives in Cheltenham, England. Robert Gillespie is one of Ireland's leading flytyers and an experienced salmon angling guide. His childhood was spent in County Armagh where he learnt to fish and tied his first fly at the age of nine. He began his career as a gillie in Donegal and Mayo and in 1985 he moved to the Moy valley where he worked as a full-time fishing guide. He now lives in Foxford, Co. Mayo, with his wife, Mary. Robert now runs a flytying business and continues to guide throughout Ireland. He writes for Flyfishing & Flytying, and Trout & Salmon and is a regular contributor to Irish Anglers' Digest.
