Christian Goodwillie is the Curator of Collections at Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Goodwillie holds a BA in History from Indiana University -- where he also studied at The Early Music Institute -- and a Master's Degree in Historic Preservation from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He first became interested in the Shakers during a visit to Pleasant Hill, Kentucky, and continues to fuel his passion with extensive research into Shaker music and architecture Joel Cohen is the director of the Boston Camerata, which has toured and recorded throughout the world under his direction. A leading authority in the field of medieval, Renaissance, and early American musical performance, Mr. Cohen has taught and lectured at numerous universities, including Harvard, Yale, Brandeis, and Amherst, as well as at important conservatories in Europe. He has worked extensively with the Shakers at Sabbathday Lake, Maine, to transcribe manuscript songs from their library and prepare recordings and concert performances of this important and beautiful repertoire.
