Shadow at Evening

Before taking up writing and editing full time, Chris Walley spent twenty years working as a geologist. He lectured at the American University of Beirut for eight years (1980?84; 1994?8) where he had various memorable encounters with guns, bombs, missiles and students wanting higher grades. He also spent 10 years travelling the world as an oil company consultant and remains an authority on the geology of the Middle East, and Lebanon in particular. Recently he has been involved in editing and co-writing a number of Christian books, notably with J. John. Under the pen name of John Haworth, he produced two well-received thrillers in the 1980s: Heart of Stone and Rock of Refuge.
