Francis L. Macrina, Ph.D., is Director of the Institute of Oral and Craniofacial Molecular Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He directs an NIH-funded research program in bacterial pathogenesis and has served on NIH study sections and other federal advisory boards and panels. He has served on journal editorial boards and is presently editor-in-chief of the journal Plasmid.
