Valerie Connelly lives with her husband, Michael, in northern Illinois not far from the Wisconsin border. She divides her time between writing, teaching, painting and traveling. An educator and international traveller since her days as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo, West Africa in 1969, she has made her living teaching French literature, language and culture in the United States and in France, as well as teaching English as a Second Language in West Africa, Iran and the United States.
