Bill Taylor was born in 1951 and educated at Skegness Grammar School. He joined the RAF in 1967 as an Aircraft Technician Apprentice, reaching the rank of Sergeant before being commissioned into the Engineer Branch in 1973. During his career as an Engineer Officer he served at stations in the UK and Germany and at the Ministry of Defence in posts associated with the Buccaneer, Harrier, Hunter, Hawk, Jaguar, Tornado and Bloodhound missile system. He retired from the RAF in 2001 having reached the rank of Group Captain and is now the Chief Executive of de Havilland Support Ltd, based at Duxford AirfieldTaylor, Bill is the author of 'Royal Air Force Germany Since 1945', published 2004 under ISBN 9781857800340 and ISBN 1857800346.
