Diane Stewart Lepley is a criminal defense attorney and civil litigator in Washington, D.C. Before setting out as a solo practitioner twenty years ago, she worked in every branch of the government starting with the United States Senate Public Works Committee where she was employed as a secretary/researcher for Senator Jennings Randolph. She then moved on to the Executive Branch where she monitored legislation for the National Bureau of Standards? Center for Building Technology and learned about the nuts and bolts of building safety. Finally, during law school, she clerked for a private civil firm and then accepted a position after graduation as Law Clerk for the Honorable Tim Murphy, Associate Judge at the D.C. Superior Court. She graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.A., from West Virginia University with an M.A. in Speech Communications and from George Washington University with a J.D. She and her mother have been doing kooky things since they both dressed up as bunnies when Diane was five. They?ve decorated and concocted ad campaigns for years.
