Raw Silk

Meena Alexander was born in Allahabad, India. Her volume of poems Illiterate Heart won a 2002 PEN Open Book Award. Her memoir, Fault Lines, chosen as one of Publishers Weekly's Best Books of 1993, is published in a new expanded edition with a coda entitled "Book of Childhood." She lives in New York City, where she is Distinguished Professor of English at Hunter College and the Graduate Center at the City University of New YorkAlexander, Meena is the author of 'Raw Silk', published 2004 under ISBN 9780810151567 and ISBN 0810151561.
