Rain From God

Set in 17th century America, the novel follows the life of Katanaquat, whose name means Rain from God. He is a mightly warrior of the Narragansett tribe of Rhode Island and follows the traditional Narragansett traditions such as taking more than one wife and worshipping may gods. When the "white men" with their colonial interests threaten to destroy the way of life of his people, it stirs up resentment and anger within him.
