"PUEBLO PEOPLE is an endearing and personal work that brings the reader into direct contact with its subject matter. The photos are more like snapshots than "art" photography, but only in their attitude, for they are also adroitly composed and painterly colored. Many were taken inside people's homes, or at their children's schools, or along the streets of town, so that the "presence" of the photographer is well reduced into anonymity. I sensed an effusive human element in this book that made me feel more deeply the triumphal spirit of humanity, and also made me thankful to Native Americans for this inspiration. We can learn much about what it means to be "American" from our indigenous cousins, and Marcia Keegan's work certainly inspires us to try."Marcia Keegan is the author of 'Pueblo People: Ancient Traditions, Modern Lives' with ISBN 9781574160000 and ISBN 1574160001.
