Andrew D. Olsen is currently the manager of the Editing Section for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has a master’s degree in English from BYU. He began researching the story of the Willie and Martin handcart pioneers when he couldn’t find answers to most of his questions in any existing publications. One of his ancestors was a member of the Martin Company who died at Martin’s Cove.
