A Maryland native, Michael P. Parker did his undergraduate and graduate work at Yale University before joining the faculty of the United States Naval Academy in 1979. A Professof of English, he served as chair of the department froom 1993 to 1997. Although his primary field of expertise is English Renaissance literature, Parker has also cultivated a keen interest in Anapolis history. He moved to Presidents Hill i 1990 and spent over a decade interviewing resident and digging through land records and newspapers prepartory to writing this definitive history of the neighborhood.
