Larry E. Greiner is professor of management and organization in the School of Business Administration at the University of Southern California. He is an internationally recognized scholar and consultant on the issues of organization growth, structure, and strategy. Dr. Greiner is author of the classic Harvard Business Review article, "Evolution and Revolution as Organizations Grow," as well as co-author of the book Consulting to Management. Dr. Greiner holds D.B.A. and M.B.A. degrees from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from the University of Kansas. He has previously served on the faculties of the Harvard Business School, INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France, and the University of Kansas. Virginia E. Schein has lectured extensively to management audiences on the subject of "Power and Politics," both in this country and in Europe. She is a former associate professor of management at the Wharton School and is currently an organizational psychologist and consultant to business and industry in human resource management. She received a Ph.D. in industrial psychology from New York University and graduated cum laude from Cornell University. Today this state-of-the-art series, edited by Beckhard and Schein, has been expanded to include 20 titles by authors such as Dyer, Gerstein, Harris and Porras, with many new titles planned for the future.
