Larry Brown was born in Iowa, widely recognized as one of the nation's premier pheasant states. He both went to school and, later, taught there. Not surprisingly, Larry retired to Iowa after years in military intelligence, work that sometimes took him as far from his beloved ringnecks as it was possible to be. Since 1977, he has written literally hundred of articles on hunting and fishing for virtually all the nation's outdoor magazines, including Outdoor Life, Pointing Dog Journal, Double Gun Journal, Gun Dog, Pheasants Forever, and Shooting Sportsman, where he is is a regular contributor. He and his wife, Michele, now live in RandallBrown, Larry is the author of 'Pheasant Hunter's Notebook', published 2003 under ISBN 9780892726080 and ISBN 0892726083.
