SUMMARY

In early Spanish California, an evil violinist is buried in an earthquake under what is now the Hollywood Bowl. He is rudely awakened two hundred years later by Dude Dorsey, an usher at the Hollywood Bowl and leader of his own heavy metal band. Dorsey, having no place to rehearse for the Bowl High School Competition, devises an ingenious scheme of rehearsing on the stage of the Bowl between the bewitching hours of midnight and dawn. Beginning with Father Junipero Serra founding the Missions of California, to the inception of Hollywood and the Hollywood Bowl, to the awakening of the Spanish violinist and his wild adventures in Hollywood with colorful PI Charlie Fist, Lawrence Chadwick Jr., Director of the Bowl; plus the beautiful Margo Townsend, violinist and concertmaster of the Bowl orchestra and the only classical musician to pose nude in Pentup Magazine; Gottfried Von Stuka, the bizarre, left-handed conductor of the Bowl orchestra; and heartless Bernie Gander, editor of the scandal sheet, The HollywoodBlues; and...Pianist, singer, songwriter, Hollywood nightclub owner, and now author. Mark's piano teacher played violin, viola, and piano with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Mark would go see him perform in the Bowl, which obviously planted a seed that, years later, grew into The Phantom of the Hollywood Bowl.Traversino, Mark is the author of 'Phantom of the Hollywood Bowl', published 2004 under ISBN 9781413708127 and ISBN 1413708129.
