Phantasien (Music Scores)

An Urtext edition for piano of all ten of the works of J.S. Bach which bear the name "fantasia," regardless of their form. For those works which were written accompanying fugues, both the fantasia and fugue sections are presented. Also included is BMV 921, since it is traditionally listed among the fantasias. The pieces are arranged in order of key. Though the pieces published here were written for the harpsichord of clavichord, the presence in a few pieces of bass notes that would by difficult to play with the hand alone suggests that some of them are for organ as well.
