Penny Dreadful

Penny Dreadful is a claustrophobic tale of existential noir. Phineas Poe--protagonist & antihero of Kiss Me, Judas--returns to Denver to find that reality has been rewritten & the laws of reason redrawn. Phineas is an ex-cop looking for sanctuary, for peace & quiet. But when he is asked by his old ally Detective Moon to search for a missing officer named Jimmy Sky, a man who may or may not exist, Phineas becomes entangled in a series of events so bizarre that neither luck nor logic can guide him. He becomes an unwitting player in a live role-playing game that has no rules or boundaries: the game of tongues. A game of sexual warfare, performance torture, & clairvoyant visions, played out by disaffected college students, computer hackers, & street people in abandoned warehouses, sewers, & rooftops. Everyone he meets has multiple personalities & Phineas himself soon loses track of his own various identities.
