Bob Barner has been drawing since he was three years old. He graduated from The Columbus College of Art and Design. After school he moved to Boston and was an art director at several advertising agencies and design studios.... He was hired to help comic strip creator Al Capp draw Li'l Abner and studied with Milton Glaser at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Since Boston publisher Little Brown published his first book, The Elephant's Visit, Bob has written and illustrated over 25 books, some of which have been translated into Korean, Spanish, and French, and also set to music and made into short films. He has won many awards, including The Parent's Choice Award and The Teacher's Choice Award. His work has been chosen several times for the Society of Illustrators Original Art Exhibition in New York. In 2004 he was honored as a San Francisco Library Laureate. When he is not writing or drawing, Bob enjoys speaking to young readers at schools and libraries around the world.
