Sharon Gorker Norris was born in 1950 in Manhattan, Kansas. She received a B.A. in music education from Kansas University in 1972. She later taught elementary vocal music for 12 years, and has taught music as therapy to emotionally disturbed youth in grades K-12 for the past five years. She is an active minister in her church. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her granddaughters.Since their son's death, Sharon and her husband Larry have conducted many workshops on the signs of depression and suicide prevention.
