A brief history of Yellowstone National Park before the Inn was constructed is included. The majority of the book chronicles the construction, early- day visitor experience, renovations of the Inn, admirers of the Inn (including some famous people), the 1959 earthquake, the 1988 fires, bears around the Inn, employee stories, upcoming restoration projects and the legacy of perhaps the west's most important "parkitecture" icon.
